The Raptor Submersible Auger Anchor Drill Rig is a middle-range submersible rig designed for the installation of auger / helix anchors into soft sediment.
Operating in water depths up to 40 m, it installs screw-pile anchors up to 5.5 m long with flight diameters up to 1,000 mm, driven by an earth drill head delivering 33,295–66,589 Nm of torque.
Auger and helix anchors are wound into the seabed under torque rather than drilled and grouted, giving a mechanical, groutless fixing that holds well in the softer sediments this rig is built for.
It sits between the diver-assist drill rig and the larger Raptor SDR in the drilling range, matched to soft-sediment sites where screw-pile anchors are the right approach, rather than the harder ground the rock-drilling rigs are built for.
